The Boykin Community Center’s Fitness Center is now open to the public. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.–Noon, and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
Because of the COVID crisis, only treadmills, stationary bicycles, the stair machine, and elliptical trainers are available. Free weights and weight machines are currently unavailable for use. Patrons should call the Fitness Center at 334-501-7322 or the Boykin Gymnasium at 334-501-2961 if there is no answer in the Fitness Center to reserve a time.
Gym memberships can only be purchased at the Frank Brown Recreation Center, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Citizens living or working in Auburn can become members for a one-time fee of $25. The membership includes an access card for entry into the Frank Brown Fitness Center and the Boykin Fitness Center. Access is not available for anyone under the age of 16; a parent or legal guardian must accompany teens ages 16-18. If a patron is already a member at the Frank Brown Fitness Center, his/her membership and the access card will work at Boykin.
