Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled for April 4, has been postponed out of an abundance of caution. Since the event includes participants traveling from adjacent states to collect and process materials, the event will be rescheduled for a later date after the COVID-19 situation has subsided.

Those who were planning to drop off materials are asked to hold on to them until the next event. Keep an eye on, the City’s social media accounts (@CityofAuburnAL) or sign up for eNotifier to be notified when the event is rescheduled. The City of Auburn appreciates your patience as schedules and events continue to change during these unusual times.

The City of Auburn Environmental Services Department hosts two Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days in the spring and fall. The scheduled Household Hazardous Waste Collection events are scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020 (this event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation), and Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Environmental Services Complex, located at 365-A North Donahue Drive. During these events, we will accept your paper documents for secure, on-site shredding as well as computers/electronics.

Citizens may bring up to 20 pounds of material per household for disposal. Participation is limited to Auburn residents. Proof of residency can be shown by bringing a recent water bill.
