Stormwater Management Plan

On September 6, 2016 the Alabama Department of Environmental Management reissued the statewide General National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit ALR040000 for discharges from regulated small municipal separate storm sewer systems (small MS4’s). As the owner and operator of a qualifying small MS4, the City of Auburn submitted a Notice of Intent requesting coverage under this permit, which was granted under Permit Number ALR040003. The effective date of coverage for the City of Auburn under this permit is October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2021. This permit requires that the City of Auburn develop and implement a Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMPP), detailing how it intends to comply with all of the conditions of ALR040003. In general, there are five minimum control measures that must be addressed in this SWMPP, including special conditions requiring water quality monitoring of impaired waterways.
